At first glance

Happy Birthday Matias!

This past week Alex Cesar and the bubbas were in town for a visit. We had a little birthday party for Matias and mom and dads and Hayden met Matias and Isabella for the first time. Well lets face it he had no clue what was going on, but it was cute to the rest of us! Hayden screamed the entire time because of my new enemy...gas. I spent most of the time in a bed room with him trying to calm him down... I'm sure next year will be different.
Isabella is such a pretty little girl and so obviously a girl! Hayden looks like a little truck beside her... I'm so happy they are close in age!

The following day we went out to Frank and Claire's for a first time visit with Giana and the gang. Hayden was in a better place this time and was a hit with the ladies!

I learned last week the H is lactose intolerant so we had to switch up his formula. Things do seem better but he's still a little off... I wonder if hes allergic to my breast milk? Anyway...thinking out loud here.

Reverse Psychology

Sleep is for the weak...
That's all I have to say about that.

GEMINI.....

Zodiac Sign of Gemini
The people who were born in this period are widely known for their dual personalities and ability to change mood from moment to moment. Of all people they are the most difficult to understand; in temperament they are hot and cold almost at the same moment. (ummmmm yeah! What do you want...WHAT DO YOU WANT! Are you hungry or do you need to poop?)
They love with one side of their nature and they are often critical or dislike with the other people. Their sharp wit and excellent powers of observation make them a good raconteur, although they have a tendency to exaggerate which can cause trouble with their relationships. (Yes screaming at the top of his lungs like Hayden is being tourtured while I rock him to sleep causes tention between Mommy and Baby)

Such people are usually excellent in diplomacy, and dazzle their listeners by, their wit and brilliancy, but they usually leave them no wiser than they were at the start. It is difficult even for them to understand what they want to achieve. ( Again, were you interested in sleeping or are you trying to poop? Are you hungry? WHAT? )

At heart they are ambitious for social position; but when obtained they have already tired of it, and are ready to go in for something else or for something totally opposite. Being natural communicators these people do not suffer fools gladly; so once they are attracted to people, they have to ensure that they are not dull or mundane. (Wow thats a lot of pressure!)

They will no doubt spending ages chatting to anyone about every subject under the sun, just to keep feeding their ever active and inquisitive mind. If taken as they are, in their own moods, they are the most delightful people imaginable, but one must not attempt to hold them or to expect them to be constant to their ideas or plans. (Again...it was a GREAT idea to WANT to go to sleep .... ).

They believe they are truthful, constant, faithful, and so they may be at the moment, but every moment to them has a separate existence. These people have an ability to see quickly the weak points in those they meet, and can reduce all to nothing by wit, sarcasm, or mimicry. ( Fantastic....)

Haunted House

I swear my house is haunted! (and no I'm not spending too much time alone ).
I have watched Hayden on numerous occasions stare off and clearly see something! Whatever he sees he follows with his eyes and he finds them hilarious! What's so funny? I would love in on the joke because right now IT'S NOT FUNNY!

During the day it ranks moderate on the creepy scale, but at night those ratings fly off the charts! You try breastfeeding at 3am in the dark as your baby smiles and laughs at his new little friends.

In addition to Haydens distractions I swore I saw a shadow go by the other night. I thought it was Marcus until I realized he was still in bed!

But wait...that's not the worst of it! Lui is also friendly with those that I can't see. I have seen him stare off (in the same area of our house) at nothing. The only difference is, Lui doesn't find them funny. He growls and barks...

CREEPY!

I'd be lying

I'd be lying if I pretended like there were not hard days and everything was perfect! It would make me look like super mama but really....who are we kidding. Up until Hayden I had never changed a dirty diaper!

Anyway...The last few days have been less than perfect! The little man has a cold, the little man is going through a growth spurt and my little man has bad gas. All this adds up to one big old party!

He was up basically for two days and two nights straight..with me right along side of him and Marcus coming up the rear.  We bounced, we danced, we sang, we fed, we fed we fed, we held, we rocked, we cuddled, we swaddled etc etc.  We took him into the shower and tried to steam his cold out. We used drops, suctioned mucous from his nose, rubbed his tummy etc etc.

Now today all of a sudden (after a HUGE baby poop.....sorry I am being honest here remember!) He is a different baby! He's laughing, hes smiling he's lovely! He let me make lunch, he let me eat! Hurray he let me use the toilet! (sorry, too much information).

As I type this hes sitting here in the swing watching a coldplay concert on tv. Yes, Yes I know exposing him to TV already. Cut me some slack, hes quiet for the moment!

Must run...lunch time and he calls!

An excitng week!

Well this has been QUITE the EXCITING week for big H. Not only was he a super model he established a somewhat consistent night time routine and gained some weight!

Tuesday was a big day for mommy and baby. With the help of Mom I was able to brush my hair for the first time in a month (so not kidding) and get myself dressed for our photo shoot for Black's (they were in a need of a family pic for one of their stores). So we packed ourselves up and drove out to Woodbridge. Hayden worked the camera like a pro... As a result we got a few really cute pics!

Yesterday after a visit with Oma and Nono we drove out to the Drs for a follow up apt. Last week I was asked to put Hayden on formula 4 x a day after feedings. Why? because hes a little piggy and he wasn't gaining weight fast enough. Well...in one week he went from 8lbs 5oz to 9lbs 10oz! It's working!

Last night we decided to try the crib out now that his little belly is full of food now... Well....
He loved it! Ladies and Gents PROGRESS!

I put him down at 10:00 and he slept until 12:00
Then down at 1:00 and slept until 3:30
Then down at 4:30 and slept until 6:30
After that we had play time on the mat (which is basically me dancing around him trying to make him laugh with a little tummy time thrown in).

Now I just put him down for his 8:30 nap. He didn't eat as much as I had hoped so this nap will prob be a short one...in fact I hear him now! Darn!

Well....we are almost there.
Wow! the things that get me excited these days!
SCARRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYY
P.S Marcus is now a pro at dancing Hayden to sleep. Check out the video!

3 week update

Is it just me or does Hayden look like a cross between Christopher Walken amd Yoda? (at times you can pepper in satan to the mix) Ahhhhhhhhh how can I make fun of my own little guy!

He's changing so much every day. His hair is lighter now and really fine...hes also really long and lanky. Lately I see more of me in him than Marcus (do i look like yoda?)

Hes hit the fussy age so we take him one day at a time...

This weekend we took him to the cottage. I didnt see the light of day but at least I got away!
July Funnies:
Found his cord in our bed!
Poop sprayed all over my cheek
pee into the air many times
starting to smile
passes gas louder than any 300lbs man
baby wakes.... milk needed stat!

Hayden....

On June 13 (Friday the 13th) at 11:42pm little Hayden was finally born weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz.

They induced me at around 3:30 so the entire birth from start to finish was only around 8hrs. Once the drugs kicked in it was smoooooth sailing. All in all a really neat experience that I'm glad Marcus and I had together. (why some women do it naturally is beyond me....drugs ladies, drugs).

It's been five or six days (dont make me count im going on no sleep) and things are going well! We are getting to know each other more and more every day. Thank the lord Marcus is home with me for the next two weeks. He is 100% hands on and has been making these amazing meals every day (while also functioning on no sleep).

He wasnt peeing or pooping too much which was a little concerning but recently he passed his first poop at home (the things which become socially acceptable to discuss when it's a baby...) and hes obviously putting on weight so we're happy about that.
One day at a time and lifetime to go....

Just sitting here thinking

So it's a Thursday afternoon in May. Alexandra has just had her second baby and I'm sitting here feeling fat and sorry for myself and jealous that she has moved on to the next phase. My feet are swelling, I can't bend over and I just generally feel like a cow. Then all of a sudden, out of nowhere like I needed to be reminded I get this little foot stuck up in my ribs. This tiny little foot with tiny little toes just moving away to remind me that right now it's just about me and him. I think I need to stop for a min and realize that this is my own special time alone with him and I should enjoy it!
So hurray to swollen ankles, a big behind and a great big belly. This is MY time with my own special little secret (well ok, not so much a secret) but my own special moments with this special little guy. I know I'll look back and miss this time so here's to the here and now. The next phase will come soon enough......

NEW LITTLE BABY

Early this afternoon little Isabella came into this world!
With a set date to be induced, the little one knew it was time and decided to come on her own!
Now my sources tell me that she came fast and furious with no problems at all. Mom is currently watching Matias who has no idea he has a new little sister and friend just waiting to come home. Mama and baby and both doing well from what Cesar tells us...
Stay tuned for more info and pics to come (when I receive both!)

Congrats to Mom Dad, Grandma's, Grandpa, Aunties and Uncles...

Another happy day!
