3 week update

Is it just me or does Hayden look like a cross between Christopher Walken amd Yoda? (at times you can pepper in satan to the mix) Ahhhhhhhhh how can I make fun of my own little guy!

He's changing so much every day. His hair is lighter now and really fine...hes also really long and lanky. Lately I see more of me in him than Marcus (do i look like yoda?)

Hes hit the fussy age so we take him one day at a time...

This weekend we took him to the cottage. I didnt see the light of day but at least I got away!
July Funnies:
Found his cord in our bed!
Poop sprayed all over my cheek
pee into the air many times
starting to smile
passes gas louder than any 300lbs man
baby wakes.... milk needed stat!

Hayden....

On June 13 (Friday the 13th) at 11:42pm little Hayden was finally born weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz.

They induced me at around 3:30 so the entire birth from start to finish was only around 8hrs. Once the drugs kicked in it was smoooooth sailing. All in all a really neat experience that I'm glad Marcus and I had together. (why some women do it naturally is beyond me....drugs ladies, drugs).

It's been five or six days (dont make me count im going on no sleep) and things are going well! We are getting to know each other more and more every day. Thank the lord Marcus is home with me for the next two weeks. He is 100% hands on and has been making these amazing meals every day (while also functioning on no sleep).

He wasnt peeing or pooping too much which was a little concerning but recently he passed his first poop at home (the things which become socially acceptable to discuss when it's a baby...) and hes obviously putting on weight so we're happy about that.
One day at a time and lifetime to go....

Just sitting here thinking

So it's a Thursday afternoon in May. Alexandra has just had her second baby and I'm sitting here feeling fat and sorry for myself and jealous that she has moved on to the next phase. My feet are swelling, I can't bend over and I just generally feel like a cow. Then all of a sudden, out of nowhere like I needed to be reminded I get this little foot stuck up in my ribs. This tiny little foot with tiny little toes just moving away to remind me that right now it's just about me and him. I think I need to stop for a min and realize that this is my own special time alone with him and I should enjoy it!
So hurray to swollen ankles, a big behind and a great big belly. This is MY time with my own special little secret (well ok, not so much a secret) but my own special moments with this special little guy. I know I'll look back and miss this time so here's to the here and now. The next phase will come soon enough......

NEW LITTLE BABY

Early this afternoon little Isabella came into this world!
With a set date to be induced, the little one knew it was time and decided to come on her own!
Now my sources tell me that she came fast and furious with no problems at all. Mom is currently watching Matias who has no idea he has a new little sister and friend just waiting to come home. Mama and baby and both doing well from what Cesar tells us...
Stay tuned for more info and pics to come (when I receive both!)

Congrats to Mom Dad, Grandma's, Grandpa, Aunties and Uncles...

Another happy day!

The Baby Shower

This past weekend Marcus and I had our "Baby Shower". Yes, you heard me correctly, Marcus and I. I could not bring myself to an afternoon of opening up gifts with women who in most cases I hadn't seen since 1989. So with all that had been going on the last few months, we thought it would be fun to have a party on a Saturday night, men and women. Besides, Marcus loves the mingle and the shmooze so it was no skin of his back.

Mom decorated the house with blue balloons (which went straight to the high ceiling by mistake but ended up looking great), little blue stars, candles, flowers and a ton of yummy food. A really good crowd of close friends only showed up which made things easy and fun rather than forced and fake.

We received so many beautiful gifts so now only a few last min items are needed to be picked up.

The next day I folded all of my new clothes and organized them (even though there really is no need seeing I will have to unfold them all again once the room is ready for set up). I didn't care though. I enjoyed going through all the items.

Only seven weeks to go my little one! I can't wait to meet you. xox

No more pics please....

Rice - a- ronie anyone?

Well a weekend come and gone, but what a great time it was! I flew down on Friday morning after I watched the cabby crash into mom and dad's car at 6:00am. Long story short, as he was pulling up he saw a young pregnant women trying to crawl over the snow with a suit case as best she could (that would be me), so in an attempt to "help me" he jumped out of the cab (forgetting to put his car into park) and crashed into the back of the Mercedes.

Luckily (or not so lucky) there was damage already done so no additional "harm" done. It really was time for another adventure and get-a-way.

7hrs later I was in another cab heading for the hotel where Marcus was. He spent a week there for work, visiting clients and raking in the doe for Mommy and Baby. After a quick freshen up at the hotel we were off and ready for what turned out to be a fantastic weekend. We started the afternoon on Friday with a huge lunch at a great Mayan restaurant before hitting the sites. Marcus drove me around in our rental (ahem, a caddy - high roller) and took me to the local sites like Lombard street (the windiest street in the world),
The Golden Gate Bridge, Muir Woods, (which I loved!), Muir beach, Fishermans Warf and Pier 39. That evening after a day of running here and there we enjoyed the best crab cakes I have ever had at a cute little sea food place along the warf.

Saturday morning we were up and off to see the sun rise in the restaurant at the top of the Hilton. It was a beautiful morning, clear as far as the eye could see. After brekky we headed straight to the warf (by trolly of course) to try and book a tour out to Alcatraz. Unfortunately we were too late so that tour will have to be saved for next time. Unsure of what to do next, we grabbed a coffee and headed down to watch the sea lions to think it over. That's when Cous came up with a brilliant plan.....Napa Napa Napa! In minutes we were up and in the car driving out to the world renown, Napa Valley. We spent the day touring vineyards and sampling local California Wines (well Marcus did), I had a few sniffs and got the general idea. The weather was perfect and the detour was a fantastic surprise. The two vineyards we spent the most time at were: Robert Mondavi and V. Satuui. V. Sattui is one of the oldest wineries in Napa as well as a deli, complete with a busy bbq and area for a picnic. We took Silverwood trail back and headed home after a long day out in the fresh air. That evening we had a quick dinner in Union Square and Gelatto for dessert! All in all a great time, one of the best weekends we have ever had.

Now back to the snow, again!
